Too Cool for Internet Explorer

Hello guys!! I just came back from a very tiring day of canoeing. I'm taking my two-star course, you see. So, its pretty much work, work and work from now on to this coming Saturday.

Its awesome, new friends, reunion of old friends, new skills and more importantly, stronger bonds. We learnt about the nip tides and spring tides, the lateral and vertical movement of tides and currents, risk assessment, expedition planning and also safety procedures. Sounds boring? Bet your ass it is. But heck, its important, so why not just listen to boring lectures? Haha. You probably think I'm crazy.

As for the practical part, we learnt several new stuff. For example, how to paddle more efficiently with our hips, feet and arms. How to eject from the cockpit of the kayak with a spray deck. The Eskimo bow rescue, edging, low support recovery, high support recovery, single-man rescue. On Saturday, we're going to learn several new moves, followed by our assessments and hopefully, all of us getting our hard earned certificates.

As fun as it sounds, there are boring parts, such as rafting up and such. It's also nerve wrenching. Like before we learnt how to do the Eskimo bow rescue, most of us were scared, me included. I'm going to be frank, I was afraid of capsizing and then waiting for my friend to come and rescue me. Now, its just like eating. Nearly natural, all we have to do is practice on our hip flips! Well, nothing much to post about anymore, so peace out!
